Clay County Employees Receive Lifesaving Safety Training
Clay County Parks and Road & Bridge employees participated in lifesaving training in partnership with NKC Health and the Clay County Sheriff’s Office. The session focused on Stop the Bleed, NARCAN, and drug and paraphernalia awareness, equipping employees with skills to respond to emergencies and recognize potential hazards on the job.
For employees who work in the field, the ability to provide immediate assistance following a traumatic injury is especially important. Stop the Bleed training helps prepare staff to respond during those critical moments before first responders arrive.
The NARCAN and drug and paraphernalia awareness portions of the training also addressed concerns about drug-related activity in county parks. Employees learned how to recognize and respond to a suspected overdose, along with appropriate safety procedures for identifying, handling and disposing of drugs and drug paraphernalia they may encounter while working.
This training reflects Clay County’s ongoing commitment to a safe workplace and safe public spaces. By partnering with local health professionals and law enforcement, the County is helping ensure employees have the knowledge, tools and confidence to protect themselves, support their coworkers and assist the public when it matters most.
