EverGuard Roofing, a prominent professional roofing company in New Mexico, has named Velazquez and Martinez, Vice Presidents, effective September 1, 2026
[They] understand that a roof means more to a family or a business than just shingles and flashing. That's the kind of thinking we need more of.”
ALBUQUERQUE, NM, UNITED STATES, September 3, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- EverGuard Roofing, a prominent professional roofing company in New Mexico, has named Jose Velazquez and Isaiah Martinez, Vice Presidents, effective September 1, 2026.— David Simmons
"Jose knows roofing and assemblies as well as anybody on this team, and that's earned, not given. And Isaiah's got the kind of people skills you can't teach, he carries himself with a high degree of professionalism, he listens, and he understands that a roof means more to a family or a business than just shingles and flashing. That's the kind of thinking we need more of." - Owner Dave Simmons
Jose Velazquez:
Velazquez has been with EverGuard since 2022, when he started in the field. He moved into a foreman and repair role, then became an estimator in 2023, and has now been promoted to Vice President.
Since joining the estimating team, Velazquez has quoted more than 2,000 jobs and helped bring in $22 million in won commercial bids. Among those, he counts a $2.8 million public school roofing contract in San Jon among his proudest work.
"As Vice President, Velazquez will oversee commercial estimating operations and mentor the next generation of estimators and project leads, while strengthening EverGuard's relationships with commercial and municipal clients. "
"They have someone to rely on, someone to talk to and trust," Velazquez said of what he wants his team to know about him. "They can always come to me with concerns."
Asked what makes EverGuard successful, Velazquez pointed to honesty, open communication, and treating employees like family. These values he wants to preserve as the company grows. Of the promotion, he said it's a chance to share what he's learned, bring new ideas to the table, and continue learning from his peers. He's also interested in helping EverGuard branch into additional construction services down the road.
Isaiah Martinez:
Martinez joins EverGuard on September 1, 2026, bringing five years of roofing industry experience and ten years in construction overall, dating back to 2016. Most recently, he served as Territory Manager for New Mexico and El Paso for GAF, a major roofing materials manufacturer, where he grew the company's shingle market share in the region from 6% to 15% in two and a half years.
"As Vice President, Martinez will focus on growing sales and building out the sales team.”
Martinez said his early initiatives include working with EverGuard's existing sales team to identify growth opportunities, and building a database of the company's past completed roofs to proactively reach past customers, whether that be for maintenance plans or because it's been eight to ten years since their last roof.
On leadership, Martinez said he tries to listen more than he talks. "I ask questions that hopefully lead to uncovering a need," he said, adding that his goal is to make sure employees feel respected and supported, while balancing that with what's good for the business.
Martinez pointed to EverGuard Gives and Dave Simmons' deep involvement in the local community as two of the company's biggest strengths. He said the latter often gives EverGuard a head start on bidding jobs before other companies even know they're coming.
This is Martinez's first time serving as a Vice President. "It's a big undertaking, and I don't want to mess it up," he said. Reflecting on his path from an entry-level call center sales job in 2016 to a VP role ten years later, he said it means a lot to be in this position. He hopes to find honest, hardworking people in Albuquerque looking to provide for their families, just as he'd describe himself.
