PMF Reports US-Israeli Airstrikes Target Its Positions in Iraq

(MENAFN) Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) report that US-Israeli airstrikes struck its positions early Tuesday. According to a statement by the PMF, three strikes targeted Brigade 45 in the Jurf al-Nasr area in central Iraq, while a fourth hit Brigade 31 in the Karma region of western Anbar province. The force said no casualties occurred.

The PMF is an official Iraqi security organization formed in 2014 following a religious edict by top cleric Ali al-Sistani to combat the ISIS (Daesh) terrorist group. It was later incorporated into Iraq’s armed forces by government decision in 2016.
